ABOUT

The Origin Story

Nude Art LA started with a simple idea: create a space where the human body is celebrated as art, not hidden from it. In March 2018, founder Chris Wallace traded labor for space at an artists’ collective called The Sugar Shack — repairing lights, cleaning, cooking — and put on the first show. It drew a packed house and proved what he suspected: people were hungry for this kind of experience.

Six months later, the second show at Art Share LA drew nearly 1,800 people — a line out the door and around the corner. The venue told us they’d never reached capacity before. It was chaotic, sweltering (no A/C), and absolutely electric. Naked News covered it. About 75 artists from around the world showed their work.

Show three at the Cooper Design Space was the most ambitious yet — 16,000 square feet across two nights. The art was extraordinary, the scale was breathtaking, and the lessons learned shaped everything that came after.

After a long pause through COVID, the show came back in February 2024 as Aristocratix — a rebrand and a return to intimate format. Three weekends, 100-person shows, and the magic was back.

Now we’re coming back as Nude Art LA. Because that’s who we are.

What We Do

We produce pop-up events that bring together fine art, live performance, and interactive experiences — all celebrating the nude human form. Think curated gallery shows mixed with world-class body painting, shibari, burlesque, aerialists, and live figure sketching sessions where the audience becomes the artist. Every show has a unique lineup.

What makes this different: people who are shy at first come back wanting to go further. The paint, the performance, the environment — it unlocks something. Every body type, shape, color, and size is represented in the work, and guests see themselves reflected back as art. Breast cancer survivors have been moved to tears seeing themselves transformed on canvas. People leave seeing beauty where they never expected to find it — in themselves.

Every piece of art is for sale with QR codes for instant purchase, making it easy to take home something you connected with.

Giving Back

Art pricing is simple: the artist sets their price, and every piece is available for purchase throughout the event. It’s a real marketplace where collectors and first-time buyers can connect directly with the work.
